About Me
My name is Mandy Jones, thank you for visiting Counselling North West.
I am a highly experienced, skilled and established counsellor. Alongside my private practice work, I am also employed part-time as a Lead Therapist for a Sexual Violence Charity. My previous work experience has included working for a statutory service in the NHS, various Charities and several EAP services.
I have worked in sexual violence and domestic abuse for 30 years so my transition into counselling was a natural one; the refuge I was working for needed a telephone counsellor, so I did some initial in house training. After finding my first experiences of counselling hugely rewarding, I trained as a counsellor and I have been practising for over 17 years.
Through my counselling journey, and subsequent training and CPD, I have worked in a variety of fields. I have worked with rape and abuse victims, sex workers, young offenders, emergency services, prison officers, as well as attending critical incidents throughout the country. I have also done extensive work on safeguarding as well as helping business set up Employee Assistance Programmes, offering general counselling for work related issues.
